In his Truth Social post dated Wednesday, May 21, President Trump commented on the situation by accusing the officials responsible for allowing it to occur of treason. He contended that individuals like former Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas ought to be subjected to criminal charges due to their misconduct regarding immigration.
At the outset of the post, President Trump contended that the dire border circumstances that arose during his administration were not attributable to former President Joe Biden. He stated, “Joe Biden was not for Open Borders; he never discussed Open Borders, where criminals of all types, forms, and sizes can enter our Country freely.”
In his explanation regarding the costs associated with illegal immigration, the president remarked on Biden’s cognitive impairment and alleged that officials within the Biden Administration were exploiting this condition. He stated, “The decision to open the border, which has nearly devastated our nation and incurred costs amounting to hundreds of billions of dollars to remove criminals from our country, was not his own.
