WATCH: Woke Congresswoman Has Berserk Meltdown in Congressional Hearing, Shouts and Tries to End Hearing after Scott Bessent Shuts Her Down to Her Face

During a highly contentious hearing of the Committee on Financial Services, far-left Democrat Joyce Beatty (OH) engaged in a dispute with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. Beatty’s tirade extended for nearly two minutes as she launched a series of dishonest criticisms against Bessent.

To provide context, throughout her impassioned speech, she berated Bessent for his refusal to acquiesce to her demands to feature Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill, a long-standing initiative championed by liberals for the past three decades. These irrelevant comments underscore the woke left’s struggle to contend with a self-assured conservative.

Regardless, the hearing, which took place on May 7, 2025, commenced with a dialogue regarding the requirement for foreign businesses to file with federal agencies. The progressive Ohio Democrat initiated the discussion by asking, “Could you clarify for the American public how you undermine the bipartisan CTA and anticipate that law enforcement and national security agencies will swiftly and effectively identify the true owners behind shell companies registered in the United States?”

Continuing her impassioned address, she sought to portray this reasonable stance as being lenient on crime. She asserted, “Currently, foreigners, including members of drug cartels and gangs, can establish a company in the United States without any state or federal ownership reporting obligations. I remind you that in your testimony, you mentioned illicit actors? Well, these are some of our illicit actors!”

In response to her vitriolic remarks, he maintained a composed tone, effectively silencing her. Bissent stated, “The Congresswoman, the vast majority of the domestic entities you are referring to are diligent Americans operating small businesses.”

Irritated by his composed attitude, Beatty initiated an assault. She interrupted, “So you are implying that it is not accurate that they must file and that the foreign entities are required to file with the BOI.” Clearly frustrated, the treasury secretary replied, “Yes, we have bifurcated. We have bifurcated the CTA program to ensure that domestic entities are exempt.”

Recognizing that this line of questioning was unproductive, the Democrat shifted to familiar woke rhetoric. Beatty interjected, “I mean, you can phrase it however you wish, but the answer remains no, and this facilitates, and this is what I want the American public to understand. It facilitates operations for human and drug traffickers, cartels, terrorists, organizations, and other criminals within the United States.”

Not finished with her exaggerated tirade, she lamented, “And when you restrict enforcement solely to foreign entities, it excludes 99% of the entities that Congress intended to encompass when the law was enacted. Therefore, I believe I have my answer. We simply do not concur on it, but we understand the reasons.”
