Whistleblowers Christine Bish and Darren Ellis provided comprehensive documentation indicating that Schiff sold his home in Burbank, California, back in 2003, and subsequently acquired a residence in the affluent Potomac, Maryland area.

The Maryland property was explicitly identified as his “primary residence” on various mortgage and refinancing documents—a crucial legal classification that contradicts Schiff’s assertion of California residency, which is mandated by both state law and the U.S. Constitution for holding public office. As detailed in the complaint, Schiff “filed and reaffirmed through refinancing documents that his primary residence was 8204 Windsor View Terrace, Potomac, Maryland, 28054,” while concurrently registering to vote in California at a different address in Burbank.
