My Husband Secretly Went on a 15-Day Trip With His “Best Friend.” When He Returned, I Asked Him Just One Question That Left Him Paralyzed: Do You Know What Illness She Has?..

I was married to him for seven years. On our wedding day, I thought he’d be my rock for life, but I was wrong. Everything started to fall apart when he started coming home late, his phone was locked, and his “best friend” started showing up more and more often.

My best friend was the one I’d known since college. Everyone thought she was beautiful, intelligent, and outgoing. But I wasn’t at peace. My feminine intuition told me their relationship wasn’t so innocent. I tried to talk to him several times, but he refused, even got angry.

One day, he told me he had to go on a 15-day business trip to a remote island. I didn’t suspect anything; I just asked him to take care of his health. But as fate would have it, the next day, by chance, I saw a message on his phone: this trip wasn’t for business, but rather a vacation he and my friend had been planning for a while.

I was stunned. But instead of making a fuss, I remained silent. I wanted to wait and see how far his deception would go when he returned.

Those fifteen days were the longest of my life. During the day, I struggled to care for my daughter, and at night, I endured a pain that tore at my chest. My daughter asked me several times, “Mom, why did Dad have to be gone on a business trip for so long?” and my tears just flowed.

The day he returned, he came smiling, his skin tanned, his arms full of gifts. He even feigned interest: “I missed you so much, so much.” I remained silent, my heart cold. When he sat down, I looked him straight in the eyes and asked:

—Do you know what disease she has?

That question was like a knife to the heart. He froze, his face pale.

—What… what are you talking about?

I pursed my lips. I knew the secret he’d never imagined: my best friend suffered from a serious contagious disease. I’d found out by chance, thanks to a friend who worked at a hospital. She’d received treatment several times, but kept it a secret. Even so, she kept rushing into relationships, and my husband—that foolish man—fell into her arms.

“I’m asking you for the last time. Did you know?” I said in a cold voice.

He remained silent. His eyes were filled with confusion and regret. He began to tremble.

Weeks later, the truth came out. She went to the doctor because her health was worsening. The examination revealed she had the same illness as my friend. I wasn’t surprised. I only felt bitterness, because the man who had been my husband had ruined her life.

Luckily, I had already separated from him a few months earlier, when I realized the marriage was beyond saving. We were no longer close as a couple. So my daughter and I were completely safe. Perhaps that was the last protection God gave us.

The day he received the results, he knelt in front of me with tears streaming down his face:

—Forgive me… I was wrong… please don’t leave me…

I looked at him and felt no remorse. That man had destroyed my trust, had stolen our family’s happiness. And now I had to face the consequences of his actions.

—The one who deserves your apologies is our daughter, not me.

I replied softly and then turned around.

From that day on, I stopped caring. I poured all my love into my daughter, who returned to living a peaceful life, without fear. He was still alive, but it was a sad life, marked by belated regret.

The question, “Do you know what disease she has?” was the beginning of the revealed truth. It was also the end of a marriage that once seemed strong. I realized that sometimes revenge isn’t necessary for cheating, because life itself takes care of giving the betrayer the harshest punishment.
