In a stunningly fun and sweet moment during the Commander-in-Chief’s Inauguration Ball in Washington, D.C., the swankiest of the post-inauguration balls for those celebrating the president’s victory, an “iconic” moment came as President Donald Trump cut the cake for the event and he and Melania did the “Trump Dance” together.
Making that part of the event all the more fun, and incredibly iconic from a video and photo perspective, was that Trump was holding the saber with which he was to cut the cake as he did the dance. So, as Melania laughed, clapped, and eventually joined in the beloved dance, Trump was wielding a saber, adding to the hilarity of it.
Drawing attention to the wonderful moment on X (formerly Twitter), the FLOTUS Report account, which posts many fun and sweet videos of Melania Trump, attached a clip of the First Lady dancing along as Trump did his characteristic dance with a saber in hand. The account said, “President Trump dances with a sword while First Lady Melania claps along dancing to the YMCA. Absolutely iconic.”
Commenters on the FLOTUS Report post agreed, chiming in and saying things like, “This was adorable! I love them! ,” “What I love is that he was dancing for HER! The smiles!!!!

Another commenter noted how refreshing and sweet it is to see Melania having fun after all the pain and worry the last few years of lawfare against her husband have surely caused, saying, “It has been so refreshing to see Melania having fun smiling and enjoying herself today. Even when her feet were hurting so bad in those shoes. I felt so bad for her feet. It was nice to get to see the real Melania. Love you Melania!”
