When Mo and her husband Alex relocate to a new apartment, a generous gift primarily from her parents, she organizes a housewarming celebration to signify their new beginning. However, the festivities take an unexpected and shocking turn when Alex and his mother Barbara declare their expectation that Mo should transfer ownership of the apartment to Alex’s sister, Katie—a single mother of three.
